Scots family 'devastated' after callous Christmas Day thieves ransack house

A family have been left 'devastated' after callous Christmas Day thieves ransacked their home.

While most Scots were tucking into their turkey dinner the evil robbers raided the family's house in Biggar.

Cops have launched a probe after a considerable amount of jewellery and other personal items were stolen from the property on Fleming Way.

The incident happened between 2.15pm and 7.30pm on Christmas Day.

Constable Alex Burns, of Larkhall Police Station, said: “I would appeal to the community of Biggar and the surrounding area for any person who may have information about this incident or the property that was taken to get in touch to help with our investigation.

“This incident has had a profound impact on the family and we will continue to investigate and identify whoever is responsible”

Police Scotland are urging anyone who can help with their investigation to contact cops on 101, quoting incident number 2047 of Friday, December 25, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
