Scots face more snow chaos as Met Office weather warning extended

Scots could be faced with more snow this week as the Met Office extend the yellow weather warning for ice and snow.

Wintry showers are expected across western Scotland and the Northern Isles will turn increasingly to rain at low levels during the early hours of Monday allowing icy patches to form.

People are being warned to look out for black ice on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.

Ice may cause travel disruption on Sunday night and Monday morning with roads and railways likely to be affected, longer journey times are also expected.

The scattered sleet and snow showers will continue on and off during the day and overnight into Monday.

Strathclyde, south west Scotland, the Highlands and central parts of the country are expected to see the worst of the conditions .

Weather warnings have dominated many of Scotland’s forecasts this week as Storm Christoph traveled up the UK.

Beast from the East 2  fears  have been ramped up as forecasters anticipate the wintry weather continue into February.
