Scots driver parked car on top of graves sparking fury at cemetery

A Scots driver who parked his car on top of graves at a cemetery has been branded 'heartless' by outraged locals.

Residents were furious after a woman who was visiting a grave shared pictures of a vehicle abandoned over the burial site at Jeanfield Road Cemetery in Perth on Friday April 2.

The woman claims to have confronted the driver who shrugged off his error when he was asked to move the car.

The woman is now calling for CCTV to be mandatory in cemeteries and for others to be more mindful of their actions.

Posting online the woman said: "This person parked his car over the graves at Jeanfield Cemetery.

"When confronted he just said he was looking for a grave.

"People spend hours looking after their loved ones graves for heartless people to do this.

"This has to be the most disrespectful thing that anyone can do."

They added: "People also walk their dogs through the cemetery and let them do their business with out picking it up.

"No dogs are allowed apart from guide dogs in Perth and Kinross cemeteries.

"If CCTV was in the cemetery it would be so much easier to get these people charged."

One person said: "Has he not got legs to get out and walk? Lazy and ignorant."

A second person said: "There's no need for that that looks like where my gran and grandads grave is.

"The bollards are there for a reason boils my blood."

A third person said: "This is scandalous, I swear lucky I’m not up there at the moment.

"No respect, glad I wasn’t brought up that way."

A fourth person said: "How disrespectful."

The Daily Record reached out to Perth and Kinross cemeteries for comment.
