Scots driver 'could have been killed' after 'brick thrown at car' on M8

A driver whose car windscreen was smashed after a brick was reportedly thrown at it on the M8 'could have died.'

Police have launched a probe over the incident after being called to reports of a windscreen being smashed on the motorway in Glasgow on Saturday April 17.

The incident took place as the vehicle was passing below the overpass on Gartcraig Road linking Ruchazie and Cranhill.

Now the driver's daughter has hit out at 'eejits' in a social media post appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The widely-shared post on the social media site read: "Some eejits are throwing bricks off a bridge Gartcraig Road on to cars on the motorway.

"My dad could have been killed if anyone has any dashcam footage please PM me - police notified".

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We have received a report that a vehicle being driven on the M8 on Saturday, 17 April had its windscreen smashed.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
