Scots driver charged for not defrosting car windows properly

A hasty commuter was charged by cops after they were caught driving without defrosting their vehicle.

Police in Dumfries and Galloway were stunned to see the impatient driver of a red Citroen Nemo travelling along with their windows completely iced over.

Pictures taken by the force show there was next to no viability through the thick layer of ice before they handed out a fine.

Now officers are warning drivers to make sure cars are fully defrosted before travelling if they want to avoid a similar fate.

A spokesperson for the Dumfries Galloway Police Division said: Road Traffic Officers stopped a red Citroen Nemo where the windscreen & windows were fully frozen over.

"The driver's visibility was very poor and he could have been involved in a road traffic accident.

"The driver was charged accordingly.

"Please ensure your car is fully defrosted before travel."
