Scots drinks maker creates 'Pride of Bute' Gin with portion of profits donated to Scottish LGBTQ+ charity

A Scottish drinks producer has collaborated on a new special release for Pride Month.

Isle of Bute Distillery worked with Spirit of Bute to create the limited-edition Pride of Bute Gin.

The colourful bottle features a silhouette of the island of Bute itself with the rainbow colours of the Pride flag emblazoned on it.

Described as a "blended blush gin", the team say they combined local floral heather and sweet zesty citrus notes to create a "moreish and refreshing gin".

Posing an image of the exciting new bottle on their official Facebook page, the distillery team wrote: "Best of all, it was made in support of LGBTQ+ individuals and a proportion of all sales from this limited edition batch will be donated to a Scottish LGBTQ+ charity."

Made in extremely limited numbers, the small batch bottles can bought at the Isle of Bute Gin Garden or from the Spirit of Bute store.

The news follows popular Edinburgh-based brewery teaming up with LGBTQ+ rights charity, Stonewall, to celebrate diversity with a new beer launch.

The limited edition ‘Proud as Helles’ lager was designed to not only raise awareness with the beer, which comes in Pride Flag packaging, but would also see Cold Town Brewery making a £2,500 donation to Stonewall.
