A thug has been warned he could be jailed after being convicted of a third attack on his girlfriend.
Scott Lawrie set upon Myrren Kirkwood a week after they split up, a court heard.
The 34-year-old shoved her to the ground then grabbed her by the throat before pushing her into her living room causing the glass to smash.
He admitted assaulting Myrren at her home in Paisley, Renfrewshire, on August 8 when he appeared in the town's sheriff court yesterday.
Prosecutor Dana Barclay said: "The complainer and the accused were in a cohabiting relationship for a period of two years.
"The relationship ended one week before this incident.
"Their relationship is described as 'a turbulent relationship' however the accused remains in contact with their daughter."
Ms Barclay said Lawrie had telephoned Myrren on the day of the attack to discuss their daughter.
They then had "a minor verbal argument" at Myrren's home.
Ms Barclay added: "The accused attended the locus and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
"The accused advanced towards the complainer and firmly pushed her to the chest, causing her to fall to the floor.
"The accused then pushed her to the chest, pinning her against a wall.
"He then gripped the complainer around the neck. This is described as being 'firm' but she did not perceive this as a means to try to strangle her.
"He then pushed her into the living room window, which caused the glass to shatter."
Myrren did not require any medical attention.
The court heard the victim did not want the court to impose a Non-Harassment Order (NHO), which would see Lawrie banned from approaching or contacting her.
However Sheriff Tom McCartney said he had to consider whether an NHO was necessary and whether Lawrie should be sent to jail.
He said: "There are convictions from April 2019 and January 2019 for domestically aggravated offences of violence.
"This is your third conviction in little over two years for violence against your partner, so it's a serious matter.
"You have never served a sentence of imprisonment before and, clearly, that is in my mind.
"It may be there is simply no alternative but to impose a period of imprisonment.
"I shall, however, make no decision on that today."
He called for background reports to be prepared and deferred sentencing until next month.
