Scots dogs stolen from farm in broad daylight both found in England

Two cocker spaniel dogs stolen from a Scots farm have now been traced at two separate locations in England.

The beloved pets were stolen from a farm in Amulree near Dunkeld in broad daylight on Thursday July 15 between 2 - 2.45pm.

Devastated owners launched a public appeal to trace the dogs after the theft when callous dog nappers used tools to break the locks to a steading.

The two dogs were stolen last week (Police Scotland)

One of the cocker spaniels was traced on a remote country road in Brinsley, Nottinghamshire last week and police have today confirmed the other dog has been found safely at a different location in England.

Enquiries into the dog napping are ongoing with officers south of the border also working to identify those responsible.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact police on 101.

A Police Scotland statement said: "We are pleased to confirm that both dogs have now been found safe and well at different locations in England.

"Enquiries are continuing both here in Scotland and with the relevant forces south of the border to identify and trace those responsible for the theft.

"If you have any information that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any police officer. Also, information can be given anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is incident 2071 of 15th July."
