Scots dog walker seriously injured after being attacked by woman in Ayrshire

A Scots dog walker has been left with serious injuries after being attacked in Ayrshire.

The incident happened on South Dean Road in Kilmarnock at around 11.30am on Sunday March 29.

The 59-year-old woman was walking a black Labrador in Dean Park when she crossed paths with another woman and her dog, possibly a French bulldog.

The two animals tried to fight before parting ways.

A short time later the woman was confronted by a man in a silver car who challenged her about the incident.

As she walked away down South Dean Road, near to the junction of Forbes Place, when she was pushed to the ground from behind.

The same woman and man who she met earlier drove away in the same vehicle.

She suffered serious injuries to her finger and minor injuries to her head, knee and ribs before seeking treatment at Crosshouse Hospital.

The female suspect is described as late 20s to early 30s, around 5ft 6in tall with long blonde hair.

She was wearing trainers, leggings, a baseball cap and a faux leather style jacket/body warmer.

The male suspect is described as late 20s to early 30s, around 5ft 8in tall with short dark hair and a stocky build. He was wearing a t-shirt and jogging bottoms.

Detective Constable Nicola Fraser, of Kilmarnock CID, said: "The victim is understandably shaken and upset by this incident.

"We're appealing to anyone who was in the area and either witnessed the incident or perhaps recognises the description of the man and woman involved to contact us."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 1061 of 29 March 2020 or via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
