Scots dog owner's warning after elastic band found in Home Bargains pet treat

A Scottish dog owner has issued a warning after he found an elastic band inside a supermarket pet treat .

Daryl Collins, 29, from Lockerbie , purchased "Munch and Crunch" tripe chews from a Home Bargains store in Lockerbie.

He snapped a treat in half to feed his pooch Doris but noticed an elastic band was still holding the two broken pieces together.

Dog owner Daryl had bought the treats because they were 100% meat (Daryl Collins)

Daryl said: "I had bought these treats from Home Bargains because they are 100% meat unlike others which are full of sugar and additives and rot my dog's teeth.

"I only noticed the elastic band because the chew was snapped in half. It was the last full size treat left in the bag.

"I made a complaint to Home Bargains and they told me that an investigation would take 30 days. I called the supplier directly on Monday but I haven't heard from them."
