Scots DJ lights up West Lothian street with weekend dance party amid lockdown

A Scots DJ turned a West Lothian street into a disco amid the weekend lockdown.

Keith Carlyon took out his decks and equipment and brought a party to Crossgreen Drive in Uphall on Saturday night.

Keith normally runs his own business, Hi-Tek Discos, but has seen booking stop due to the coronavirus crisis.

So instead he belted out hits to all his neighbours for two and a half hours as they watched on from their gardens.

Keith told the Record: "I'm usually out gigging every Friday and Saturday and I know that everyone is pulling their hair out just now so I just wanted to do something to cheer people up.

"It's been a miserable time for everyone so I just thought 'why not' and brought them out the front of the house.

"I've usually been playing from my bedroom so it was nice to just get out and bring a smile to everyone's face."

A friendly neighbour handed Keith a glow stick to congratulate him on his performance.

And since his impromptu gig footage of his skills has gone viral online.

A tweet showing him playing his banging beats to the street has been retweeted more than 170 times.

Chloe Martin tweeted: "I’d 100% recommended him! He was amazing loved every song!"

Another account tweeted: "Good on him. Times like this we all need a little music to cheer us up."

Keith said he would continue to play, but probably confine himself to his bedroom in future.
