Scots cyclist who died after coming off bike in Aberdeenshire named by police

A cyclist who died after coming off his bike in Aberdeenshire has been named by police.

Liam Alexander Finlayson, 35, who was from Inverurie, died after coming off his bike on the B9126 road near Kirkton of Skene at around 2.40pm on Sunday.

Members of the public came to his aid and paramedics rushed to the scene but Mr Finlayson could not be saved.

Police say enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

Officers have now spoken to the driver of a dark coloured 4x4 vehicle who was previously asked to come forward as part of an appeal.

Anyone else with information who has not yet spoken to police is asked to call 101, quoting incident 2053 of 12 September.
