Scots cyclist left with broken arm and ribs after teen deliberately jumped into path of bike

Police are hunting a reckless teenager who caused a cyclist to fly over the handles of his bike near a park in Dundee.

The male rider was left with a broken arm and cracked ribs after the youth deliberately jumped out in front of him and another cyclist on June 8.

The duo had been travelling along Liff Road near the south side of Camperdown Park at around 9.15pm when the incident took place.

The cyclist was forced to take evasive action and landed head-first on the road but was thankfully wearing a helmet.

Police say the teenager responsible was around 15-years-old, of a skinny build and had been wearing a black gilet.

He had been in a group of around 20 other youngsters, some of whom were also on bicycles, who all left the scene immediately after the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 0926 of June 9.

Information can also be given anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.
