A creep who offered a group of schoolgirls £250 to give him oral sex has dodged jail.
Barry Buchanan, 46, approached the teenage girls, aged 13, 14, and 15, as they sat chatting on benches in Stenhousemuir, Stirlingshire.
He was seen to "rub white powder on his gums" before launching into a stream of sexualised remarks, a court was told.
Prosecutor Michael Maguire said Buchanan was a stranger to the girls.
Mr Maguire said: "He asked for oral sex in return for £250."
He told a terrified 15 year old in the group, "I'll slit your neck."
The frightened girls began to film the encounter on their mobiles, and contacted police.
Meanwhile, Buchanan approached a second group of children, aged 12, 13, and 14, in nearby King Street, Stenhousemuir.
He asked for cigarettes and when he was refused he threatened a 13-year-old girl in the group with anal sex, threatened to slit her throat, and then pulled down his trousers.
Mr Maguire said this resulted in him "exposing his penis and showing them his bare backside".
He walked off when one of the children's parents arrived on the scene.
The depute fiscal said some of the children from the first group followed Buchanan home when he walked off and notified police of his whereabouts.
He was then arrested.
In addition to the mobile phone footage, some of what occurred was also captured by CCTV cameras sited outside nearby licensed premises.
Buchanan, unemployed, of Larbert, Stirlingshire, pleaded guilty to breach of the peace, and indecent exposure.
Defence agent Willie McIntyre said Buchanan had been released from prison only three months before the incidents, which occurred on the early evening of June 25th (2021).
At Stirling Sheriff Court today Sheriff Derek Hamilton placed Buchanan under social work supervision for a year, and imposed a restriction of liberty order, confining him to his home from 6pm to 6am, for six months.
He was placed on the sex offenders' register for five years.
