Scots creep who left girl crying and shaking after bribing her for naked photos slapped with warning

A creep who tried to bribe a youngster into sending him naked photos has been warned over his conduct.

William Figures, 35, was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register after offering a teenage girl cash in exchange for nude pictures.

Figures, of Linwood, had left the victim “visibly shaking” and “crying inconsolably” when it was reported to police by her family.

He appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court for a review of his behaviour where it emerged he had been causing trouble for social workers.

Defence agent Rhona Lynch revealed her client had clashed with the social work department over child contact.

She said: “There appears to be some concerns about his challenging behaviour.

“His supervising officer did not think this was a good idea.

“He now appreciates he has to follow the instruction of those supervising him.”

The lawyer added Figures had since mended his ways and his “attitude is much more productive”.

She said: “He doesn’t know what got into him but he seems to have insight into the inappropiate-ness of his conduct.

“He has been told it is not up for discussion and if he is told to do something, he will do it.

“However, the court may wish to keep an eye on him.”

Figures had pleaded guilty to texting the girl, asking her to send nude photographs for the purposes of obtaining sexual gratification or to cause humiliation or distress.

He also admitted possession of an air weapon without the proper registration certificate.

He was handed 300 hours of unpaid work, as well as placed under supervision of the local authority for three years in April 2019.

Figures still has almost a year left of the court-ordered supervision.

Sheriff Tom McCartney told him: “Clearly, there was an issue and you have caused serious concern.

“However, it does appear it has been resolved and you have accepted the requirements upon you in relation to these matters.”

Figures will appear for another review of his behaviour on November
