Scots couple's family celebrate their 'original wedding day' with unique 'pass the parcel' cake delivery

A Scots couple were stunned after receiving a special 'pass the parcel' lockdown wedding cake delivery from their family.

Hayley Moverley, 27, and Ross Dornan, 30, were 'overwhelmed' after loved ones decided to cheer them up on what should have been their wedding day.

In the emotional video each family member 'passed' a mini wedding cake to each other while in isolation and sent the couple a message of support.

The 'parcel' travelled across the country from Dundee to Aberdeen with wedding guests 'throwing' it to the next person.

The couple were then presented with the cake at the end of its 'journey'.

Hayley said: “It was a total surprise we had no idea we were so shocked.

“We were so overwhelmed it was really emotional.

“I received a message from my brother on the day we were supposed to get married saying watch this video then come outside.

“When we went into the garden we saw them all standing, but social distancing apart, and they had lovely gifts waiting.

They have rearranged their wedding for December instead of May 15th and are looking forward to a Christmas celebration.

Hayley added: “It was a funny day we were really emotional, it was sort of sad since we were supposed to be getting married.

“We still had our first dance with Alexa playing and I was in my PJ’s and enjoyed our mini wedding cake."

The couple were upset that they wouldn't be tying the knot as planned but were cheered up by the outstanding effort from friends and family.

Hayley said: “The fact they put so much effort in was so overwhelming we really couldn’t thank them enough for letting us still make the day special.

“We haven't seen anyone in two months so to see them all in the video was so great.”
