Scots cops swoop on town centre with search dogs as teenager charged with drug offences

A teenager has been charged with drug offences after police officers were seen searching on a Fife street.

Uniformed cops were pictured at the scene on Central Avenue in Glenrothes at around 8pm on Tuesday night.

Local reports claim specialist police dogs and detectives were also in attendance during the incident.

Police Scotland have now confirmed that a 19-year-old man has been charged and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A force spokesperson said: “An 19-year-old man has been charged with drugs offences in Central Avenue in Glenrothes on Tuesday, 25 May, 2021.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
