Scots cops stop alleged drink driver 'more than seven times over legal limit'

A man will appear in court after he allegedly got behind the wheel while more than seven times the legal drink drive limit, police have said.

A reported reading of 164 micrograms per 100ml of breath was recorded by the officers in Edinburgh yesterday, with the driver arrested and charged with drink-driving.

The legal limit in 22 micrograms per 100ml of breath in Scotland. Edinburgh's road policing unit also allege the motorist had no insurance and was driving carelessly, reports Edinburgh Live.

Officers shared an image on the breathalyser to Twitter, which, if correct, means the roadside test driver was 7.4 times the legal limit.

They said: "EdinburghRP dealt with a driver who was well over the legal drink drive limit today. Driver failed to provide a breath sample at the station & will be held for court on Monday.

"Driver reported to @COPFS for also having no insurance & careless driving."
