Scots cops say death of man in car fire is 'not suspicious' as probe continues

Police enquiries are continuing after a 39-year-old man died in a car fire yesterday.

Cops were called to the scene on Kilmuir Drive yesterday, Saturday April, 17, around 11.10am, but the male was pronounced dead at the scene.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the vehicle which was near the Arden Community Hall.

Police enquiries are continuing but officers say there are no suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a car on fire in the Kilmuir Drive area of Glasgow at around 11.10am on Saturday, 17 April, 2021. Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished.

"The 39-year-old man, who was within the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Police enquiries are continuing, however there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal”
