Police in Glasgow have opened an investigation into an incident of deliberate fire-raising after a house was set alight earlier on Monday.
Emergency services were scrambled to a property on Leglen Wood Crescent in the Robroyston area at around 9.30am on February 28.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was able to safely extinguish the blaze and no injuries were reported as a result of the fire on the suburban street, close to the area's Asda supermarket.
However, officers from Police Scotland's Greater Glasgow division are treating the morning scare as deliberate - and have opened a probe into the "reckless" blaze.
Detective Inspector Cheryl Kelly of Shettleston CID said: “Thankfully nobody has been injured as a result of this reckless act.
“We are treating the fire as deliberate and are asking anyone with any information to come forward and speak to officers.
“I would ask if you noticed anyone acting suspicious or any suspicious vehicles in the area to get in contact with police.
“I would also appeal to anyone who has possible dashcam or CCTV footage that may be able to assist us with our enquiries.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 0698 of 28 February.
