Scots cops launch search for 24-year-old after he vanished in the Highlands

A search has been launched for a man who disappeared in the Highlands this afternoon.

Jay Macrae, 24, vanished from the village of Ardesier, near Inverness, at around 3pm. He is described as 6ft, of medium build, with short brown hair. He was wearing blue Adidas trainers and a black padded jacket when he was last seen.

Sergeant Martyn Cameron, of Burnett Road Police Station in Inverness, said: "We are becoming increasingly concerned for Jay’s welfare and are asking for the help of the public to help trace him."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police via 101 quoting incident number 2127 of Wednesday, 4 January, 2023.

The appeal was posted on Police Scotland's Highlands & Islands Police Division Facebook page this afternoon. The post read: "Police are appealing for assistance of the public to help trace 24-year-old Jay Macrae."
