Scots cops launch probe after man hospitalised by racist thugs

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was racially abused and then battered by mystery thugs in Edinburgh.

The 24-year-old was targeted in Princes Street in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

He was rushed to hospital to receive treatment for the attack, which took place just after midnight.

And Police Scotland has now appealed to the public in a bid to catch the thugs responsible.

A post on the Edinburgh Police Division Facebook page read: "Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on Princes Street, Edinburgh, which occurred just after midnight, in the early hours of 22 December 2021.

"During this incident, a 24-year-old man required hospital treatment after he was subjected to racial abuse and assaulted by two unidentified males.

"Anybody who witnessed this incident or has any further information is asked to contact police at on 101, quoting incident number 1904 of December 22, 2021."
