Scots cops launch manhunt for racist yobs who hurled vile abuse at young woman in Renfrewshire

Police are appealing for witnesses after a young woman was targeted with horrendous racial abuse by a gang of youths.

The 22-year-old was subjected to the horrendous comments in the Kirriemuir Circle area of Bishopton in Renfrewshire on Sunday October 25.

Just two days later, the same victim was once again bombarded with racist remarks by a gang of teenagers.

Police believe the group are aged between 14 and 15-years-old.

Investigators are now appealing for witnesses in a bid to catch the culprits and are carrying out enquiries in the area.

Chief Inspector Jim Cast said: “Racism in any form is not welcome in Scotland and we will do everything we can to find the people responsible for these crimes.

“No-one in our communities should have to be subjected to that and I am appealing to local residents to contact us if they have any information regarding these two incidents, which we are treating as hate crimes.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1009 of 26 October, 2020.

Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can give your information anonymously.
