Scots cops issue appeal to trace 31-year-old woman missing for two days

Police in the Scottish Borders are appealing for information to help trace a 31-year-old woman who has been missing since Wednesday.

Jenny Thomson, from Peebles, was last seen in the area of James Street in Musselburgh 25 miles away on Wednesday. The last sighting of Jenny was at 6.30pm that day, May 17 – she has not been seen since.

Police have issued an appeal to trace her, issuing a photograph and description on social media. She is described as 5ft tall, of slim build, with long brown hair.

At the time she was last seen she was wearing a light gold-coloured jacket with a fur hood, and a pair of dark trousers. Officers say that Jenny has connections to the Edinburgh and East Lothian areas.

Inspector David Robertson of Police Scotland said: “Along with Jenny’s family and friends, we are growing increasingly concerned for her wellbeing and are appealing for anyone who may have seen her to please come forward.

“If you can assist our efforts to trace her, please call police on 101, quoting incident 3611 of 17 May 2023.”
