Scots cops hunt man with 'tattoos under both eyes' after daylight attack by pair of thugs

Police in Dunbartonshire are hunting a man with tattoos under his eyes and a red-haired accomplice after a man was assaulted in Bonhill.

The 28-year-old victim was walking on a footpath leading to the Ladyton shopping centre within the Redburn estate area when he was approached by two males and attacked at around 5pm on Friday, 28 April, 2023. The pair punched and kicked him to the ground before fleeing.

He was able to call for help and was treated by Scottish Ambulance Service personnel before the incident was reported to the police. Officers issued an appeal for information on Monday afternoon in a bid to identify those responsible.

The first assailant is described as being around 15-16 years old, around 5ft 8ins tall, with red hair. He was said to be of slim build and was wearing a green top.

The second attacker is described as having tattoos under both eyes and on the left side of his neck. He is thought to be in his early 20s, around 5ft 9ins in height and of medium build, with black hair.

Police say he was wearing a cream bodywarmer at the time of the attack. Officers have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries and are reviewing CCTV footage as part of their investigation.

Detective Constable Callum Hall said: “The motive for this attack is unknown and we are working to identify and locate the two males. The footpath where this happened leads from Redburn to Ladyton shopping centre and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to contact us. In particular, if anyone has any recorded footage, please pass it on to officers.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0411 of 28 April 2023. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
