Scots cops hunt gang after frail pensioner, 86, robbed in his own home

Police are hunting a gang after an 86-year-old man was threatened and robbed in his Glasgow home.

The incident happened at around 4:25pm on Sunday 23 May in Darnley.

Three men forced their way into the Waukglen Drive home, threatening the elderly man.

They left in a white car with various items including jewellery, according to Police Scotland.

All three suspects were white and aged between 20 and 30-years-old.

One of them was wearing a light blue shirt and cream coloured trousers.

The second was wearing a white hoodie and dark trousers.

The other was dressed entirely in dark coloured clothing.

Although the victim was not injured, he was badly shaken as a result of the robbery.

Detective Constable Kris Elliott said: “Targeting an 86 year-old man and making him feel vulnerable in his own home is despicable.

“Our enquiries are continuing to identify and trace the three men involved and anyone with any information that will assist our investigation should contact the Community Investigation Unit at Govan through 101 quoting reference 2532 of 23 May.

“Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
