Scots cops charge serial ‘fraudster’ after string of 14 alleged bogus crimes across Glasgow and Lanarkshire

Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with 14 alleged bogus crime incidents and stolen car pursuits.

The 33-year-old was nicked after a major operation by Police Scotland officers in the Greater Glasgow and Lanarkshire areas.

The man is accused of carrying out frauds, thefts and making abusive telephone communications.

Police have made a report to the Procurator Fiscal (PA)

He is also facing court proceedings for alleged road traffic offences including police pursuits and allegedly stealing motor vehicles.

A reporter has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Recently, a 33 year old male was arrested & charged with 14 alleged offences relating to bogus crime.

“These include alleged frauds, thefts, abusive telephone communications and road traffic offences including pursuits and stolen motor vehicles.

“Lanarkshire Police have worked in partnership with Greater Glasgow Police Division on this case as the male committed these alleged offences throughout both areas.”

“A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
