Scots cops arrest teen wanted on suspicion of murdering man in London 'stabbing'

Scots cops have arrested a teenager on suspicion of the murder of a young man in London earlier this month.

The 17-year-old was arrested in Edinburgh on Wednesday following the death of Kane Ontre Zasheem Moses, 19, on September 30. Edinburgh Live reports that Moses was found with fatal stab wounds following a fight on Tottenham High Road in Haringey, north London.

Police had been called to attend the scene at around 5.30pm that day following reports of an "altercation". A post-mortem examination carried out on October 2 found he died from a knife wound to the chest, according to Met Police detectives.

The Met’s homicide investigation has been led by Detective Inspector Daniel Catmull of the Met's Specialist Crime division.

Prior to an arrest being made this week, he said: “My heart goes out to the family of this young man. They are being supported by specialist officers and I can assure them of my total commitment to finding and bringing to justice whoever was responsible for this brutal attack.

“Local people have been coming forward to tell us what they saw and I am very grateful to them. However, I know there are more people who saw what happened or know information crucial to our investigation. I need those people to do the right thing and contact police or, if they wish to remain anonymous, they can contact Crimestoppers.”

An appeal for information remains live despite the arrest. The Metropolitan Police have asked anyone with information to call 101, quoting reference 5327/30Sep or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
