Scots cop accused of sexually harassing woman on night out slapped with restricted duties

A serving police officer is on restricted duties after being accused of sexually harassing a woman on a night out.

Police Constable Scott Noble, who works in the Forth Valley area, has been put on desk duties while Police Scotland’s Professional Standards Unit carries out an investigation into the allegations.

PC Noble, who is married with children, is alleged to have “been a pest” to a female while at a retirement event for a retiring sergeant.

A source said: “From what we understand there have been allegations of some unwanted contact and the woman has complained to the force.”

The source added that Noble, a former rugby player, has been with the force for over 20 years.

They said: “Forth Valley chose to put him on office duties despite the serious nature of the incident rather than suspend him from his duties.

“It’s not the first time he’s been in the public eye for his behaviour.

"A few years ago a cop assaulted his wife in a bar thinking she was in a romance with Noble and flew into a rage when he saw her standing at a bar with a man he mistook for Noble on a works night out.”

It’s understood Noble was with several other colleagues when the incident is claimed to have happened in a bar a few weeks ago.

The source added: “Everyone was having a good time and had a few drinks but the female found his behaviour inexcusable.

"Given the latest publicity on women trusting police officers he’s been very silly.

"He should have just walked away when she told him to go away but he persisted thinking she would change her mind.

"It has cast a shadow on the leaving do.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A complaint has been received and an investigation by Professional Standards is under way to establish the full circumstances.”
