Scots contestant on The Chase leaves viewers stunned with amazing £10k cash builder round

A Scots contestant on The Chase left viewers stunned with her impressive cash builder round.

On Wednesday's instalment of the hit ITV quiz show, host Bradley Walsh welcomed four new hopefuls Lynne, Ken, Dave and Hollie onto the show. Lynne, 49, from Fife, was first up and scored an impressive £10,000 in the cash builder before going head to head with Anne Hegarty, also known on the show as The Governess.

Mental health nurse Lynne managed to get through the next set of questions, and returned safely for the Final Chase. Next up was Ken, who managed to score a less than impressive £2,000 before being eliminated by The Chaser.

Dave was third to face The Chaser, and despite having a decent round in the cash-builder winning £4,000 he opted for the low offer of £1,000 given by The Governess. Bradley was less than impressed by this decision after Dave got through his next round easily, and even Anne described his decision as 'pathetic'.

Last up was Hollie but after scoring an acceptable £3,000 in the cash-builder, she was eliminated after going up against the Chaser. Lynne and Dave were the only remaining contestants for the final Chase, and scored 15.

Unfortunately their score wasn't enough as The Governess caught them with 23 seconds to go.

But viewers took to Twitter immediately after Lynne's stellar performance and praised the Scots quizzer. One wrote: "Blimey! She’s good. Never seen a ten before! #thechase."

"Wow! That's one hell of a start #TheChase," another tweeted. A third added: "10 grand. That’s impressive #TheChase."

A fourth penned: "10 grand go on Lynn #TheChase," while someone else said: "F*** me, she's a bit good that Lynne!!#thechase."

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on STV.
