Scots comic Fred MacAulay narrowly escapes horror crash as Land Rover destroyed on A9

Scots comic Fred MacAulay is lucky to be alive after surviving a horror crash on one of the country's most dangerous roads.

The 63-year-old shared shocking photos of his Land Rover Discovery following the smash on the A9 last Tuesday.

Miraculously the TV star escaped with only bruised ribs.

The front of the silver vehicle was completely destroyed after the incident with the wing mirror hanging off, bumps across the entire car, and burst tyres.

Inside of the images show three air bags were set off due to the impact of the smash.

Fred took to social media and wrote: "This is going to be a better week than last week.

"A9, Tuesday morning.

"My thanks to emergency services and A&E.

"Walked away with bruised ribs.

"I post this as a thank you to the Scottish emergency services and A&E at Forth Valley Hospital."

Scots celebs sent their best wishes to Fred.

Gary Tank Commander star, Greg McHugh commented: "Bloody hell.

"Looks like a close one.

"Hope you're on the mend."

Deacon Blue's Ricky Ross added: "Wow.

"Glad you are okay, Fred."

Actor Colin McCreadie said: "Thank, God."

Fellow comic Susan Calman posted: "Oh Fred!

"Hope you're okay."
