Scots comic book legend Mark Millar puts on free Toy Story 4 screening for kids in his home town

Comic book legend Mark Millar is putting on a free screening of hit movie Toy Story 4 for families in Coatbridge .

The 49-year-old Scot, who grew up in the town, announced on Twitter he and his wife bought 200 tickets to give to kids for free from his old housing estate.

Known for writing Marvel and DC comic books, which have been adapted into Hollywood movies, Millar has always said his roots in Coatbridge are important to him.

Writing on Twitter he said: "Wanna see Toy Story 4 for free in the school holidays? My wife and I have bought 200 tix for families in my old housing estate."

The screening will take place on Friday, August 2 at 2pm at Showcase Cinema, Coatbridge.

Tickets will be handed out on a first-come-first-served basis after Sunday service on July 28 at St Bartholomews Church and Townhead Parish Church.

After announcing the kind gesture fans took to the social media site to praise Millar for the lovely idea.
