A SCOTTISH comedian is set to go ahead with her Fringe show despite being under house arrest after allegedly taking part in a blockade of a weapons factory in Edinburgh.
Susan Riddell was due to perform her show “How Do You Sleep at Night?” at the Edinburgh Fringe before she was charged under terror laws.
Riddell said that due to the charges and bail conditions she was “barred from Edinburgh for the foreseeable”.
Initially, the show was cancelled, but now Riddell has announced a “bail restriction edition”.
She is set to perform her show while under partial house arrest, and live stream the performance to the Monkey Barrel Fringe venue on Friday August 22.
Tickets cost £12-£13, with proceeds going to Palestinian charity Thrive Gaza.
Writing on social media, Riddle shared her show poster, adding: “EXCITING NEWS! I will be doing a one-off Fringe show live-streamed from my house!
“Please come along! I won’t be there but I’ll kinda be there.”
On the Edinburgh Fringe website where Riddell directed fans to buy tickets, she added: “Hi, I'm Susan Riddell. I was charged with terrorism (among other things) after an ALLEGED incident at a weapons factory.
“Before all that malarkey I'd planned to do a show at the Edinburgh Fringe called 'How Do You Sleep at Night?'
“But alas, I am barred from Edinburgh and under partial house arrest until my trial, so I am now forced to do a Zoom gig, which I'm sure we'll all agree is the worst punishment of all. Come along!”
The Leonardo factory in Edinburgh has been the target of protests.
In July, pro-Palestine campaigners drove a van into the security fence at the site. Three women were arrested and charged.
The Italian firm has been the target of protests because it supplies military components to Israel, including components for F-35 fighter jets.
And on Monday morning, protesters blockaded the entrance to the company’s factory in another bid to halt production.
