Scots comedian Paul Black shares hilarious response to Northern Lights display

Paul Black had fans in stitches after sharing his hilarious reaction to seeing the Northern Lights shining across Scotland.

The vivid light show was visible across many parts of Scotland and even appeared further south in England and Wales as people shared the gorgeous snaps across social media. On Sunday night, the lights, a phenomenon also known as aurora borealis, was visible across the country to the amazement of Scots.

Scots comedian Paul took to social media after the stunning display over the weekend, and recalled his own trip to Iceland to see the light show in the sky.

In a video posted on TikTok, he said: "Guys what is going on here. Why am I seeing people in Scotland posting photos of the Northern Lights?"

He continued: "Are you seriously gonna tell me I paid a grand and a half to go all the way to f****** Iceland, the country no the shop, to then pay another £200 to get on a mini bus for 3 hours full of American tourists in the dead of night to stand on a f****** glacier to see the Northern Lights just so someone from Edinburgh, people fae Dundee, people fae f***** Greenock could just look out their windows last night and see the Northern Lights?"

"How do you think that makes me feel? I'm not the type of person that has an amazing life-changing experience and thinks 'I wish everyone could experience this'. No I wish only me could experience this forever."

He added: "So now every time I want to be a bit of a w*** and drop into conversation 'Yeah I've actually seen the Northern Lights they're pretty spectacular. Seen them in Iceland'. Some c*** can just turn to me and go 'Aye I've seen them and all'.

"'Where did you see them? The f***** Falkirk Wheel'. It's no fair."

Fans took to the comments of the post, and shared their reaction to the Northern Lights. One wrote: "Got off a flight from Iceland to Edinburgh last night to be hit with a tonne of photos of them in Barrhead".

"I never saw them oot my windy in Greenock if that makes you feel any better," joked another. "I went all the way to Finland to see the lights and the day I get back to Edi they're here?!" said a third.

"You could've jumped on a bus to Saltcoats and caught them," a fourth suggested.

This comes as the Scots funny man is set to head off on his Nostalgia tour at the end of March, where he will perform across the UK and Ireland.
