Scots comedian Limmy announces he is 'quitting' TV and live shows to focus on digital streaming

Limmy has revealed he is quitting TV for good to focus on streaming.

The comedian told fans that he will focus exclusively on streaming via his Twitch channel.

The Glasgow comic, real name Brian Limond, said that he plans to give up his broadcast, publishing and live work to become a full-time streamer, with his forthcoming BBC Scotland show being his last.

As British Comedy Guide and Glasgow Live reports, Limmy told his 225,000 Twitch followers: “Honestly, I’ve just said to myself, I’m not doing any more telly stuff, I’m not doing any more books, live shows ... I’m not doing any of that.

“The pressure and the knock-on effects with other parts of my f****ng life of having to be open to these ideas all the time and thinking about stuff. I don’t like it, I don’t like it ... I would be doing things that I don’t want to f****ng do because it looks like the right thing to do.

“I know who I am and this [streaming] is what I f****ng want to f****ng do ... I want to do this for the rest of my days until I drop off this f*****g seat with a heart attack.”

Back in March, Limmy made a welcome return to our screens with Limmy’s Homemade Show! on BBC Scotland, which followed on from a successful pilot which aired back in April of 2018.
