Scots Co-Op stores targeted by thieves as staff left terrified during raids

Thieves raided two rural Scots shops and blocked staff from leaving in a terrifying series of robberies.

Highland cops have called for witnesses to come forward after two Co-Op stores in the Corpach and Caol areas were robbed on Tuesday December 8.

The three men entered and stole large amounts of high value goods and put them in rucksacks before running out.

Thieves also raided the Co-Op store in Corpach (Google Maps)

Two of them would block the entrance, preventing staff from leaving, before making good their escape.

Sergeant Jennifer Baughan, of Preventions and Interventions at Inverness said people should not approach the men.

He said: “We are asking staff and customers to be vigilant and to contact Police immediately should they see anything suspicious whilst out shopping in their local stores.

"We do not advise staff or customers to approach these men, but to contact Police on 101 or in an emergency via 999.”

Anyone with information in relation to this incident can contact Police on 101 or via the Police Scotland website.

Anonymous reports can be made to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
