Scots chippy records hilarious version of Band Aid classic to raise cash for charity

A village chippy have put together their own hilarious Christmas music video while raising cash for those in need.

Pepe’s Fish and Pizza Bar, in Lesmahagow, recorded their staff singing the Band Aid classic Do They Know It’s Christmas?

However, the workers have been busy changing the words to try and bring a little fun to the community – while raising money for the Clyde, Avon and Nethan Foodbank.

They decided that local foodbank would be a worthwhile cause and something they could do to help those closer to home.

Enrico Franceschi, owner of Pepe’s, said: “The gang at Pepe’s have really been getting into the Christmas spirit this year by recording a Christmas music video.

“We are fully aware of how tough this year has been for everyone and wanted to try and bring some light hearted fun to the community.

“In doing this, we hope to raise funds and awareness for The Clyde, Avon & Nethan Foodbank which is based in Larkhall, but services Lesmahagow and the surrounding villages.

“If you can spare £1 for a fantastic cause then please click the link to our JustGiving page to donate.

“We hope you see the funny side and hope everyone can have a good laugh at our expense; we all need it after all.

“Rest assured that none of us will be giving up our day jobs any time soon.”

So far the take-away in Lesmhagow have smashed their target and raised over £700.
