Scots chippy launches first vegan sausage supper

A Scottish chip shop has launched their first ever vegan sausage supper.

The Blue Lagoon, on Glasgow's Argyle Street, is serving up the plant-based treat from today.

Made from completely plant based sausages, coated in vegan-friendly batter, and fried in vegan oil, the supper will be served with a side of vegan friendly chips.

January is the most popular month of the year for people to go vegan with Veganuary on the rise.

The Scots chippy is not the only fast-food restaurant promoting vegan products. McDonalds, Greggs, and Pizza Hut have all launched vegan options on their menu this year.

Greggs' released a vegan steak bake last week to rave reviews from customers.

Alessandro Varese director of Blue Lagoon, said: "We believe we may be one of the first operators to sell such a dish and we're very excited to see what the response from our customers is."
