Scots cheese lovers could land dream job as award-winning firm launch search

Cheese lovers could land a dream job after a top Scots producer launched a search for a new cheese maker.

St Andrew's Farmhouse Cheese Co is looking for someone to join their team - and best of all you don't need any experience.

A career every cheese fan would love, the farm-based firm in Fife produce incredible products such as their Anster, Red Anster and St Andrews Farmhouse Cheddar.

The successful candidate will learn how to make their award-winning cheeses, and will assist in all aspects of the cheesemaking process, as well as learning how to care for cheese during maturation.

Handmade to a traditional recipe by founder Jane Stewart, the family firm use unpasteurised milk from husband Robert’s homebred Holstein Friesian cows.

The special herd graze all summer long amongst the lush pastures overlooking the Firth of Forth in the beautiful corner of the country that is the East Neuk of Fife.

Jane said: "Cheesemaking is one third recipe, one third manual labour (no need for gym membership if you are a cheesemaker!) and one third cleaning.

"These key elements, along with a generous measure of passion, contribute to a final product full of character and taste."

Should you be interested in joining Jane and her team, previous experience in a food production environment is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be given.
