Scots celebs react to Joe Biden's victory as Donald Trump loses place at White House

As Joe Biden is declared the winner of the 2020 US  Presidential Election, this means he will be taking over the White House from Donald Trump.

It's been a long few days of waiting on postal votes being counted with many following Trump's tweets as he made a series of unsubstantiated allegations to claim he is being cheated out of re-election.

In the last hour, the result has concluded that Donald Trump will leave the White House and Joe Biden will become the 46th President of the United States.

Many Scottish celebrities have reacted to the news by posting their thoughts on Twitter.

And Trainspotting writer Irvine Welsh made a dig at Donald Trump by saying: "Get it right up that fat spoiled b*****d!"

Scotland's First Minister also congratulated Joe Biden on his victory.

She wrote: "Congratulations from Scotland to President-Elect Joe Biden and to history-making Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris."

Outlander star Sam Heughan wrote: "God bless America. Seriously thrilled and especially for Kamala Harris! Historic!"

Funny man Limmy wrote: "Congratulations, America. I hope you can put the last four years behind you as quickly as possible."

Love Island's Iain Stirling posted a few memes to mark the occasion.
