Scots caught racing each other on major road at more than 100mph

Youths were caught racing each other at more than 100mph on a major Scots road last night.

Cops found the two young drivers bombing along the A75 at the Glen in Dumfries and Galloway at around 10.30pm

The speed limit on major Scottish roads is usually 70mph and 60mph for more rural roads.

They have both been reported to the procurator fiscal.

In a damning statement, police said the pair were risking lives and that 'public roads are not race tracks'.

The statement from Dumfries and Galloway Police Scotland division read: "About 10.30pm last night (14/04/21) two young drivers were caught racing each other at speeds in excess of 100 mph on the A75 at the Glen.

"This inconsiderate and illegal driving not only placed them at risk but other road users.

"Public roads are not race tracks!

"Both drivers will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
