Scots cat thinks he's a dog and goes for walkies on the beach

A cat that acts like a dog has caused a few double takes – by going for walkies on the beach with his canine pal.

Four-month-old Wee Guy has been walked all over the island of Mull, from beautiful Calgary beach, to Tobermory.

His owner Emily Wood, four, and her family live on the island in Salen, Mull.

Emily’s dad, Shuggie Wood, 36, said: “Our old cat died at the age of 16 so we got a new kitten for Emily in January.

“Emily is only four and every day she had a different name, so we just call him Wee Guy and now Wee Guy goes everywhere with us.”

The kitten is great pals with the family’s Labrador Marley.

Builder Shuggie said: “When we go out for a drive as a family Wee Guy goes too.

"He has been to the beach at Calgary, out to the beach at Gribun and to Glenforsa airfield.”

Wee Guy is even welcome in Macgochans pub in Tobermory.

He has been known to drop in with his owners to collect takeaway food and is partial to a fish supper.

Neil Morrison, from Macgochans, said: “We get a lot of customers for fish and chips but that was the first cat we have had.”

Shuggie added: “We have had a few strange looks on the beach and at Macgochans one guy I know said, ‘What are you like – who takes their cat to the pub?’”
