Scots cat cafe hunting for new staff to work alongside their furry friends

A Glasgow cat cafe is on the hunt for staff to work alongside its furry friends over the summer holidays.

Purrple Cat Cafe in the Trongate area of the city is seeking Scots with hospitality experience to take up their ‘Cattendant’ role.

Successful applicants will be tasked with making coffee, serving and cleaning up tables - all in the company of the cafe’s 30 beloved cats.

Bosses say the new recruit must not be afraid to get their ‘paws dirty’ and must be willing to get quickly acquainted with the cafe’s cute residents.

The cafe posted the job ad on Facebook earlier today (Facebook/Purrple Cat Cafe)

The cafe has been a popular spot for Glaswegian cat lovers since it opened back in 2017.

Posting the application on Facebook, Purrple Cat Cafe wrote: “We’re on the hunt for some new Cattendants to work over the holidays.

“Do you have hospitality experience and not afraid to get your paws dirty? Is this the purrfect job for your bestie.”

Staff will be given an initial rate of pay of £9.50 an hour and will receive a discount of 50% off all food, drinks and merchandise.

Other perks include free sessions at the cat cafe, which can be shared with friends and family.

And of course, you’ll be able to work with some of the friendliest colleagues in your career.

Information on applying for the job can be found here.
