A young Scots woman is facing a painful recovery after being attacked in a Glasgow casino while celebrating her 21st birthday.
The woman suffered a double ankle fracture after being kicked by a man as she walked past his table at the gambling hub on Broomielaw in the city centre.
The incident took place at around 4.30am on Sunday inside the upper area of the Grosvenor Casino, which was showing the Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder boxing match.
She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and later released but faces ongoing physiotherapy and outpatient appointments.
Police say the man responsible is white, Scottish, aged between 25 to 30-years-old and stands at around 6ft tall.
He has short brown hair and was wearing light blue jeans, a black t-shirt, a red jacket and dark coloured shoes.
The suspect was sitting at a table with a group of other men when he kicked the birthday girl, causing her to fall over.
Detective Constable Graham Nicolson from Glasgow City Centre CID said: “This was a completely unprovoked assault on the victim, who had been out celebrating her 21st birthday.
“As a result of this horrible act, she has been left with a serious broken ankle which will require significant physio and outpatient appointments.
“The casino was busy at the time of the incident due to the Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder boxing match and it is vital we speak to any witnesses in order to trace the man responsible and hold him accountable.
