A Scots carer has been struck off after repeated aggressive behaviour towards people with autism.
Leeann Henderson was permanently removed by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) following a review into her actions.
It found that she had acted inappropriately to two different individuals in 2020 while working for Autism Initiatives in Livingston.
The report stated the carer had repeatedly sworn at and around those who she was meant to be caring for, Edinburgh Live reports.
At one point Henderson screamed “do I look like a f*****g jack in the box to you?” after she had been asked for help by someone.
Henderson was also seen sharing a bottle of juice with an individual with autism during the pandemic, putting them “at risk of unnecessary harm.”
In addition, a review had also highlighted other areas of unprofessionalism, such as shouting and swearing at other drivers while transporting her patients.
Describing Ms Henderson’s actions as “abusive in nature,” an incident from 2018 was also brought to light, in which the carer had told a non-verbal patient:
“We’re not friends, you haven’t got any friends you f*****g p***k.”
Defending the decision to remove her from the register, the SSSC report stated:
“Such behaviour falls well below the standards expected and calls into question your suitability to continue working as part of a caring and responsible profession.
“The service users affected by your behaviour are non-verbal and as such, would have been unable to voice concerns about your actions or speak out about how your behaviour made them feel.
"You were verbally abusive towards them in the knowledge that they would be unable to report this."
Henderson was officially removed from the care register on October 20, 2020.
