Scots car wash working for free and asking customers for foodbank kids' Christmas presents instead

A big-hearted car wash has offered to wash motorists cars for free in exchange for Christmas presents for disadvantaged kids.

Kilsyth car wash launched their Christmas appeal on Saturday after the community foodbank reported they had more than 100 kids to find gifts for.

The collection has attracted a great response and a picture on the company's Facebook page shows a pile of presents donated by generous customers.

The Kilsyth car wash team were humbled by the response to their Christmas appeal (Facebook - Kilsyth car wash)

Writing on Facebook, a member of the team wrote: "I've seen many beautiful things in my life. My wife,my children, the shoreline raging on a stormy day,

"But this picture is up there with all the many beautiful things I've seen people from all over dropping in today for our Christmas appeal.

"We are so humble and grateful."

If anyone wishes to help out with the collection, they have until 6pm tomorrow (Monday 9 December) to drop off their gifts.

As well as toys people have been asked to bring along an additional small donation of non-perishable food items.

All the toys and food items collected in the appeal will be donated to Kilsyth Community Foodbank on Monday night.
