Scots can get their hands on Aldi's kilted Kevin the Carrot later this week

Aldi will once again launch a kilted version of its popular Kevin the Carrot toy in time for Christmas.

The root vegetable has become one of the nation’s favourite characters in recent years, with customers queuing round the block to get their hands on one in recent times.

Scots will be treated to their own unique edition, as Kevin dons the traditional Scottish dress once again this year.

The toy will be a much smaller size compared to the huge one-metre tall version that was in supermarket shelves last year.

The plush toy will be available in store from Sunday this week (PA)

This year’s Kevin will stand at around 25cm tall and will cost just £3.99.

He will also be wearing his official Kiltwalk tartan kilt as Aldi continues to celebrate its ongoing partnership with the organisation.

Aldi will also donate £3,000 to Kiltwalk from the sales of this year’s kilted Kevin.

The small kilted plush has already sold out online and but it will be available to buy at Scottish Aldi branches from this Sunday.

Scots will be limited to buying two customer in store.

Richard Holloway, Regional managing Director for Scotland, said: “Kilted Kevin the Carrot proved to be hugely popular last Christmas and we wanted to make sure that he returned this year.

“It has been a real shame that Kiltwalk events haven’t been able to take place physically this year, but thousands of people have still taken part in virtual events raising money for causes close to their hearts, and we wanted to do our part to help.”
