Scots will be able to get six days off work by using just two days of annual leave during the summer this year.
Buckingham Palace revealed plans for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which celebrates the 95-year-old’s seven decades of service as head of the monarchy.
A range of events were announced to mark the occasion, including a special birthday parade for The Queen and a special service of thanksgiving for the Queen’s reign at St Paul’s Cathedral in London.
Plans are also in place to hold a number of public and community events across the UK.
Scots will also be treated to an extended bank holiday period, which will take place from Thursday, June 2 to Sunday, June 5.
So if you book off Wednesday, June 1 and Monday, June 6 you will have six days off for just two holiday days used.
Buckingham Palace say that this will allow communities and people throughout the UK to “come together to celebrate the historic milestone”.
The Mirror reports that Balmoral Castle in Ballater, Aberdeenshire will be open for residents and visitors to enjoy the celebrations across the long weekend.
More Platinum Jubilee events are expected to be announced in the coming weeks and months.
People will be able to stack their annual leave on top of the bank holiday to get six days off, by using two days of their work holiday allowance either side.

- April 15 - Good Friday
- May 2- early May bank holiday
- August 1 - summer bank holiday
