Scots call centre Neptis Media to close with job losses expected

A struggling Scots call centre is to close with the loss of 40 jobs after last-ditch attempts to save its workforce failed.

Neptis Media, which carried out work for Virgin Media and Dixons Carphone, is expected to announce liquidation today.

The firm faced ongoing financial pressures, including the loss of the Virgin contract early last year and the volatility of the energy supply market, as well as the departure of two directors in October.

The remaining directors tried to prop the business up until a new backer was found but they have closed due to lack of funds.

Director Joe Costello said: “I’m devastated for all the colleagues who worked so hard to try to make a success of this.”
