Scots builder seriously injured in horror accident at building site has 'leg amputated'

A 31-year-old Scots man was rushed to hospital after a horror accident at a building site in Glasgow this week.

It is understood the worker had to have his leg amputated after the freak accident as he was unloading materials at the Multiplex building site on Argyle Street around 9pm on Tuesday night.

The man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries after one a load fell on his legs when he tried to remove slings from a crane.

Police officers cordoned off the area but one city construction worker told the Record that the ambulance took some time to arrive.

The injured worker had to wait 60 minutes before paramedics arrived to tend to his crushed leg and said he had to have it amputated due to loss of blood flow.

His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
